Henry Schein Promotes Gerard Metselaar

MELVILLE, N.Y., August 12, 2010 — Henry Schein, Inc. (NASDAQ: HSIC), the largest  distributor of health care products and services to officebased practitioners, announced today that Gerard Metselaar has been promoted to Vice President of Corporate Brand Sales and Marketing, International Group. 

In his new role, Mr. Metselaar will continue to develop Henry Schein’s Corporate Brand product category throughout Henry Schein’s International business.   

After working as a consultant for Henry Schein in the Netherlands, Mr. Metselaar joined Henry Schein in 1994.  He was instrumental in preparing the Company’s first catalog in Europe and developed a comprehensive product assortment during a period of tremendous organic and acquisition growth for Henry Schein in Europe. Mr. Metselaar relocated from the Company’s U.K. offices to Germany in 2005 to lead the introduction of Henry Scheinbranded dental, medical and animal health products to the Company’s newly combined German business following its acquisition of Demedis Dental.

Mr. Metselaar received his dental degree from the University of Utrecht in The Netherlands.  He is based at Henry Schein’s facilities in Langen, Germany.
