(Brea, CA) – VITA is pleased to announce that Magnusen Orthodontic Laboratory has completed comprehensive shade training in VITA shade management and communication, earning recognition as an official VITA Certified Shade Laboratory. To achieve this designation, Magnusen underwent extensive VITA specific training to increase their shade management proficiency. With this new expertise, Magnusen Orthodontic Lab is able to offer expert advice and case planning support to their customers, while acting as the ultimate resource in shade management and esthetics by minimizing remakes, improving shade accuracy and producing accurate shade communication. OSAP Awards Ic Scholarships To 
University Of Louisville Students

ANNAPOLIS, MD — May 1, 2013 — The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) is helping to groom future infection control leaders through a pilot program with the University of Louisville School of Dentistry (ULSD). OSAP has awarded scholarships to dental student Tyler Jury and dental hygiene student Hollie Brookman to attend OSAP’s annual conference in San Diego, CA June 13-16.

New Reports Confirm Perio-Systemic Connection and Outline Clinical Recommendations

Chicago, IL – April 30, 2013 – The American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), in collaboration with the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP),) recently published a series of consensus reports that analyze the scientific evidence linking periodontal disease, specifically periodontitis, to other systemic diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease and adverse pregnancy outcomes. The consensus reports, which appear in both the Journal of Periodontology and the Journal of Clinical Periodontology, also outline clinical recommendations for dental professionals to use when treating patients at risk for, or presenting with, certain medical conditions.
