ADA Honors Dr. Terry Dickinson with the ADA Humanitarian Award

ORLANDO, Oct. 8, 2010 –The American Dental Association (ADA) will honor Terry Dickinson, D.D.S., with the 2010 Humanitarian Award Oct. 9 at the opening session and Distinguished Speaker Series program at the Orange County Convention Center during the ADA's 151st annual session in Orlando, Fla.

Dr. Dickinson, executive director of the Virginia Dental Association, will receive the award for his leadership in developing the Missions of Mercy (MOM) Project in 1999, which has become a national model for dental outreach programs.  Dr. Dickinson assisted on MOM projects in Texas, Kansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia and will assist Maryland at the end of October on its first MOM project.

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah, October 2010 – Ultradent Products, Inc. supports the campaign for public awareness on exposure to bisphenol A (BPA).  Although BPA is widely used in the manufacture of plastic materials and products, the long term effect of this monomer is still unknown.  For this reason, Ultradent has supported a cautionary stance on the use of BPA in any form.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Oct. 11, 2010 –
The first FDA-approved dental implant made with nanotitanium, a metal that is stronger than conventional alloys and integrates much more quickly with human bone, will be installed Thursday, Oct. 14 , 2 p.m. in the mouth of the scientist who helped develop it. Dr. Terry Lowe, chief scientist at technology incubator and commercialization company Manhattan Scientifics, Inc. (OTC: MHTX), will receive the 10-minute, nanotitanium implant procedure to replace a molar.
