Video Description: Lee Ann Brady, DMD, of Glendale, Ariz, performs a procedure to alleviate pain in the mouth due to lateral soreness. A cotton roll test begins the procedure with the distal teeth as a focus to clench and release for the initial bite. Dr. Brady reinserts the leaf gauge test with some clenching inside the patient's mouth to gauge the bite discomfort, and the patient concurs that there is less pain than previously recognized. This process is used to evaluate the tension or tightness and is a positive result for the load test.
