3M ESPE to support National Children’s Oral Health Foundation through trade show recycling activity
Eco-friendly initiative part of RelyX Unicem 2 Automix Self-Adhesive Resin Cement launch

ST. PAUL, Minn. – (Oct. 1, 2010) – 3M ESPE is helping children with dental disease live happier and healthier by donating dental products to National Children’s Oral Health Foundation: America’s Toothfairy (NCOHF) as part of its launch of RelyX™ Unicem 2 Automix Self-Adhesive Resin Cement.
During the 2010 American Dental Association Annual Session and Greater New York Dental Meeting, street teams from 3M ESPE will hand out complimentary beverages to trade show attendees, while encouraging them to recycle their cups at the 3M ESPE booth. For each cup recycled, 3M ESPE will donate dental products to NCOHF, helping children receive much needed oral care.
Pediatric dental disease, dubbed “the silent epidemic” by the U.S. Surgeon General, results in over 51 million hours of lost school time each year, puts children at risk for other serious health conditions and can harm their self-esteem.
“3M ESPE is dedicated to helping children stay healthy and feel better about themselves,” said Tim McGlynn, 3M ESPE Marketing Manager. “Partnering with NCOHF in this eco-friendly initiative allows us to provide oral care for children in need and helps us ensure a cleaner environment for their future.”
“We are honored that 3M ESPE chose NCOHF as the charitable beneficiary of this creative initiative to improve the health of American children in need, while addressing environmental concerns,” said Fern Ingber, NCOHF president and CEO. “In our challenging economy, generous donations of dental products are critical for delivery of life-changing services provided by NCOHF Affiliate partners to at-risk children.”
NCOHF is a nonprofit group dedicated to eliminating preventable pediatric dental disease. The organization supports direct delivery of oral health restorative, educational and preventive programs for underserved youth through a national Affiliate network of not-for-profit university and community-based dental programs. NCOHF has helped more than one million children receive comprehensive care since its founding in 2006.
