In the ever-evolving world of dental technology, precision, innovation, and patient comfort are key factors driving advancements in imaging and implant solutions. Owandy Radiology, a global leader in dental equipment, has consistently set new benchmarks in the industry with its cutting-edge dental cone beam technology, AI-powered software, and seamless integration with 3D printing.
At the helm of this innovation is Boris Loyez, the general manager of Owandy Radiology, who is committed to pushing the boundaries of dental imaging and implantology.
In the following short interview, Boris Loyez discusses what sets Owandy’s products apart, how AI is revolutionizing dental procedures, and the company’s latest innovations aimed at making implant placement safer and more accessible.
Q: What makes Owandy’s dental conebeam stand out from competitors in terms of precision and patient comfort?
A: Our I-Max 3D Pro range is equipped with the latest generation of flat-panel sensors, offering voxel accuracy of 72 microns compared to an average of 90 microns from our competitors. We have also developed an exclusive wall-mounting solution, which translates into an easy install in any dental office thanks to its extremely small footprint and no floor occupation.
Q: How does Owandy’s AI-powered software enhance implant planning for dental surgeons?
A: We have different types of artificial intelligence to improve the quality of images taken by our CBCT, but also to help in diagnostics. Our Ceph Analysis module has artificial intelligence that allows for the automatic placement of cephalometric markers. Our IOS Software (software for our intraoral 3D scanner) offers a reconstruction assisted by artificial intelligence to ensure exceptional image quality.
Similarly, our implant planning software now integrates a new algorithm that automatically associates 3D scanner files with our DICOM volume. This allows practitioners to easily improve their planning and create a surgical guide for implant placement in just a few clicks.
Q: Can you explain how Owandy’s software integrates with 3D printing to improve the workflow for dental prostheses?
A: Our QuickVision 3D software is both a dental imaging software and an implant planning tool. It integrates with 3D printing by generating STL files (surgical guides, mandibular and maxillary models, etc.) that can be printed at any time. QuickVision 3D also simulates the placement of a dental implant on 2D and 3D models. To facilitate the surgical procedure, the patient’s main anatomical characteristics are identified, including the exact location of the implant, possible collisions, and various other clinical aspects.
Q: How does Owandy gather feedback from dental surgeons to continuously improve its implant planning software?
A: We directly engage our best end-users to collect their needs and feedback on our products. We are gradually developing a network of KOLs to interact with clinicians as much as possible and to work on our next product releases.
Q: What are the latest innovations Owandy is working on to advance dental imaging and implant technology further?
A: In order to constantly improve our cone beam solutions and bring innovation to the market, we are actively working on the integration of new flat panels with the latest IGZO technology. Coupled with our intraoral 3D scanner for soft tissue acquisition and our dental imaging software QuickVision 3D, we can reach the stage where we create surgical guides, in order to secure implant placement and also to make dental implantology a more common and safer practice for general practitioners.
Owandy Radiology’s commitment to combining precision technology, patient comfort, and continuous innovation is evident in their extensive range of dental equipment and software. With features like AI-powered diagnostics, seamless 3D printing integration, and enhanced implant planning tools, Owandy is not only meeting the needs of today’s dental professionals but is also shaping the future of dental care. As Boris Loyez and his team continue to gather feedback from clinicians and invest in cutting-edge solutions, Owandy remains at the forefront of advancing dental imaging and implantology for practitioners worldwide.
