Henry Schein Selected as the First Qualified Channel Partner

MELVILLE, N.Y. and ST. PAUL, Minn. – (October 18, 2012) –Henry Schein Dental, the global dental business of Henry Schein, Inc. (NASDAQ: HSIC), and 3M ESPE announcedtoday that Henry Schein has been selected as the first qualified U.S. channel partner for a new, advanced digital impression system, the 3MTM True Definition Scanner. Henry Schein will sell, install and support the device, which will be offered as a stand-alone digital impression system at an unprecedented price, changing the economics of CAD/CAM dentistry.

Henry Schein will also offer customers who acquire the True Definition Scanner the opportunity to have a full chairside CAD/CAM solution through integration with the E4D Design Center and E4D Mill, developed and produced by D4D Technologies. This solution has already been validated by 3M as a trusted chairside connection. Henry Schein will offer this connection as an upgrade option to users of the 3M system, or offer the products together as an integrated CAD/CAM system. As a stand-alone system without the chairside milling package, files created by the 3M True Definition Scanner may also be sent directly to a dental laboratory of the user’s choice.
