Sponsored by the Benevis Foundation, My Kool Smiles Scholarship Fund essay contest will award $5,000 to the student who submits the winning response to the question, “How can dental health contribute to the well being of families and children?”
“Kool Smiles created this scholarship fund as a way to support talented students who are passionate about making a difference in dental care,” said Dr. Dale Mayfield, chief dental officer at Kool Smiles. “Our 2016 essay question reflects the idea that dental health can impact so much more than a child’s smile.”
Essays will be judged on clarity of content, originality, creativity, and persuasiveness by a panel of Kool Smiles dentists and staff. Students also must complete and submit an online application by September 30, 2016. The winner will be announced on November 15, 2016.
Applicants must be in their final year of high school or enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited United States institution. They also must be considered in academic good standing at their current school with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or its equivalent. The official rules are available online.
