Delta Dental of Arizona has opened its foundation’s 2019 grants cycle and is encouraging nonprofit organizations to apply for funding ranging from $1,000 to $50,000 to support oral health programming focused on preventive care, education, first time treatment, and emergency services. The foundation will consider a range of programs for families throughout Arizona with a specific focus on children, pregnant women, and senior citizens.

“Oral health is our business, and as an organization who keeps our Arizona communities at top of mind, Delta Dental of Arizona and our foundation continue to look at ways to improve the oral health of uninsured, underinsured, and vulnerable residents facing significant barriers to dental care and services,” said Allan Allford, president of Delta Dental of Arizona. “We are proud of the partnerships we have forged with grantees through the years, and we encourage all organizations to engage with us and apply for these grants.”

Applications for nonprofits statewide will be open until October 11 with an announcement of awardees expected in December.

“Thanks to the support from Delta Dental of Arizona over the years, we have been able to steadily innovate our services and improve the way in which we deliver oral health education and screening to uninsured and under-insured children in our community,” said Brenda Goldsmith, executive director of the El Rio Health Center Foundation in Tucson. “This grant has allowed us to increase our capacity and as a result serve more children, develop deeper relationships with the parents, and facilitate streamlined access to the pediatric dentist.”
