Once again, all of us at Dentistry Today would like to wish all of you a happy, healthy, and successful New Year! This year, we are proud to kick off our 38th year in print, and we sincerely hope that we can make a positive contribution to your clinical knowledge and awareness of new products and technologies that will help you move onward and upward in the delivery of patient care. Furthermore, we wish to sincerely thank you, our many loyal readers, as well as the many contributing authors and loyal advertisers who make this publication possible.

In addition to an excellent lineup of clinical articles, Dentistry Today is proud to present the 26th Annual Equipment Buyers’ Guide. This section has been designed to be yet another resource for clinicians who are looking to best equip or update a new or already established dental office.

We have a great lineup of authors showcased this month. Included are clinical case report articles dealing with a variety of topics related to implants/prosthodontics written by Drs. Paul Bylis, Timothy Kosinski, David Little, and Jack Piermatti. Also in this issue, Drs. John Khademi, Jihyon Kim, Ross Nash, and Lori Trost all present clinical articles dealing with endodontic, restorative, aesthetic, minimally invasive dentistry, and technology topics. In addition, we have a Focus On article by Dr. Lorin Berland that covers some important concepts and tips related to oral hygiene for oral appliances. In our Viewpoint selection, the distinguished president of the Academy of Laser Dentistry, Dr. Raminta Mastis, discusses the use of laser technology as it relates to the oral-systemic side of patient care.

Our peer-reviewed CE article this month, available for 2 FAGD/MAGD CEUs, is written by Drs. Robert and Dawn Gregg. This article presents 2 case studies that demonstrate the human histological evidence required to make the claim of true periodontal regeneration using the Laser-Assisted Regeneration (LAR) protocol.

We sincerely hope that you enjoy this exciting issue of Dentistry Today!
