Delta Dental of California and Virtudent will partner to provide on-premise, preventive dentistry services for employers who are Delta Dental customers in select regions of New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
Virtudent brings diagnostic and preventive services typically performed at dental practices including complete oral health exams, cleanings, and X-rays right to the patient’s workplace. Conducted by a registered dental hygienist, each patient visit is 45 minutes.
The collaboration is designed to help patients stay healthier and promote preventive oral health by reducing barriers to care and the possibility of more costly and time-consuming procedures in the future, the companies report.
“Our customers are at the center of everything we do. We want to meet them where they are and provide them with more opportunities to access critical preventive care,” said Kevin Jackson, executive vice president and chief growth officer of Delta Dental of California.
“With the increasing evidence of the connection between oral health and overall health, we want to make it as easy as possible for customers to receive this vital service,” Jackson said.
