DMG’s LuxaCrown enables dentists to create long-lasting semi-permanent crown and bridges chairside, saving time and money both for the patient and the practice, the company reports. Designed to be aesthetic and easy to make, it lasts for up to five years. It suits crown and bridge work as well as implant procedures where phasing of treatment over several weeks or months is recommended, geriatric and pediatric patients, and patients who need an immediate same-day crown. Also, it delivers high strength, efficiency, and reliability, DMG says.

According to DMG, in vitro studies have demonstrated LuxaCrown’s mechanical strength and ability to preserve healthy dentition. Hard and resistant, DMG says, its fracture toughness of greater than 2 MPa*m0,5 ensures stable restorations. By giving the remaining tooth long-term protection, DMG says, LuxaCrown restores the anatomical form and masticatory function while delivering aesthetic corrections. It suits the long-term monitoring of treatment success and bridges the gap during healing stages and in difficult restorations, the company says.
