The International Association for Dental Research (IADR) will celebrate its centennial during its 98thGeneral Session & Exhibition, held in conjunction with the 49thAnnual Meeting of the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) and the 44thAnnual Meeting of the Canadian Association for Dental Research, March 18 through March 21 in Washington, DC.
The Distinguished Lecture Series will include Eric Green of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) discussing the Human Genome Project, Otis W. Brawley of Johns Hopkins University reviewing cancer control in the 21stcentury, and Janine Austin Clayton, also of NIH, talking about sex and gender influences across biomedical and dental research.
During the event’s plenary sessions, prominent speakers will discuss artificial intelligence, craniofacial genetics, and closing inequality gaps with global healthcare models and public policy, among other topics that will impact the future of dental, oral, and craniofacial research, the IADR reports. More than 75 symposia and 30 keynote addresses will be offered as well.
The winners of the IADR Centennial Emerging Leaders Award will be announced during the conference’s opening ceremonies. Also, the IADR will host its Centennial Gala on Friday, March 20 at the Library of Congress, including a sit-down dinner, live music, tours of the library’s collection, and additional programming.
