When paired with Ultradent’s Gemini 810 + 980 soft-tissue diode laser, the company’s photobiomodulation (PBM) adapter enables clinicians to treat a variety of conditions such as pain management, including temporomandibular joint disorders. It functions on the 810 wavelength, which Ultradent says is the optimal wavelength to be absorbed for photobiomodulation. Light energy is absorbed at a cellular level, improving circulation, oxygenation, and enzyme activity. It is designed exclusively for the Gemini 810 + 980 laser. The kit includes a software update that adds a “Pain Relief” preset under “Hygiene.” It also includes two single-use spacer tips, a handpiece holder clip, a cleaning cloth, and a user manual.
