The Rider S-3 Apex Locator has a proven precision of 0.1 mm due to its unique Digital Circuitry, (known as DSP), which compares favorably to the precision of other apex locators (0.5 to 1.5 mm due to obsolete analog circuitry). DSP eliminates time-wasting, sporadic, false readings of analog, which use a fixed, average measuring current. The DSP software automatically adjusts current for the changing conditions. The Rider is usable either conventionally, sitting on the tray, or by mounting this tiny EAL on the user’s current handpiece. The dentists can obtain continuous readings of the file position as it advances toward the apex and avoids the significant wasted time required to stop and check x-rays to avoid possible perforation.
