Continuing a good tradition – this year, vhf camfacture AG is donating to a charitable organization instead of sending gifts to customers and partners. In 2021, the manufacturer of milling machines and tools has decided to support the international aid organization Médecins Sans Frontières, which is providing indispensable help, especially when it comes to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is giving assistance to people all over the world. Their teams are treating patients in 165 projects in more than 50 countries, supplying urgently needed materials and taking care of infection control. In the world’s largest refugee camp, in Cox’s Bazar in southeast Bangladesh, for example, their staff examined 22,000 people with suspected COVID-19 in the first four months of the year. In Mumbai in India, the organization supports a COVID-19 center with around 2,000 beds. In Brazil, mobile MSF teams have been deployed to treat people in remote regions.
But of course, in addition to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are numerous projects in the whole world which urgently need support. Despite the enormously challenging situation in Afghanistan, Médecins Sans Frontières continues its work because thousands of people urgently need help. However, the safety of the approximately 2,400 employees and their patients always have the highest priority.
Many people are in great need in the war-torn country: for example, children who are malnourished, or women with high-risk pregnancies who need to give birth in a hospital. Teams from Médecins Sans Frontières have been providing medical aid in Afghanistan for years. The fighting this summer has caused the number of patients in their facilities to rise sharply.
As social engagement has been an important matter for vhf for a long time, the executive board and employees of the vhf camfacture AG are very pleased that their annual Christmas donation is again a meaningful contribution for indispensable medical aid in the whole world.
