The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) has awarded Fellowship Accreditation to Tara Hardin, DDS, recognizing her cosmetic dental expertise and dedication to dental health. She is one of only 82 practitioners in the entire nation to achieve the distinction since its creation in 1984. Fellowship is the highest level of achievement recognized by the AACD in accordance with its mission of education and excellence.

Hardin also is Cincinnati’s first female cosmetic dentist to achieve Fellowship Accreditation, and she is only the second cosmetic dentist in the Cincinnati region be so decorated. According to the AACD, she is among the top 10% of dentists in the nation for continued education, training, and technologically advanced treatment. Her devotion to continuing education and artistic skills enable her to create beautiful smiles, the AACD adds.

To achieve the honor, Hardin had to submit 50 recent cases of life-altering cosmetic dentistry success. The cases were extensively reviewed and evaluated for detail, design, achievement, aesthetics, health impact, and clinical excellence by a team of previously honored dentists who serve as members of Cosmetic Dental Academy, the AACD says. The cases included before and after images, an outline of their strategic dental focus and direction, and patient testimonials.

“Accredited Fellow members must complete one of the most rigorous and career altering review programs with evidence-based protocol combined with the assessment of sound clinical judgment,” said AACD Fellowship chair Bradley J. Olson, DDS. “This is truly an outstanding achievement that is a result of hours of work and dedication.”

Hardin received a BS from Furman University in 1996 and a DDS from the Ohio State University in 2000. She is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and a member of the ADA, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Cincinnati Dental Society. Cincinnati Magazine and Cincy Magazine both named her a top dentist. And, she is the official dentist and smile creator of the Miss Ohio USA and Miss Ohio Teen USA pageants.

“This fellowship distinction is a credit to my amazing team of dental assistants. Without them, this achievement would not be possible,” said Hardin, who now practices at Hardin Advanced Dentistry in Mason, Ohio.
