AAE Welcomes New Leadership to Its Board

The American Association of Endodontists (AAE) welcomed its new board at its recent annual meeting in Denver: president Patrick E. Taylor, DDS, MS; president-elect Keith V. Krell, DDS, MS, MA; vice president Alan H. Gluskin, DDS; secretary Stefan I. Zweig, DDS; treasurer Gerald C. Dietz Jr, DDS; and immediate past president Garry L. Myers, DDS.

Taylor’s career spans 21 years in the military and 18 years of private practice in Bellevue, Wash. He currently is a member of the affiliate faculty at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where he teaches in the graduate clinic. He is a Diplomate and past president of the American Board of Endodontics as well. 

Krell has maintained a private practice in West Des Moines, Iowa, for nearly 30 years. He is an adjunct clinical professor of endodontics at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Also, he retired from the US Army National Guard as a lieutenant colonel in 1993 after 22 years of service. Plus, he is a Diplomate and former president of the American Board of Endodontics.

Gluskin is professor and co-chair of the Department of Endodontics at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry at the University of the Pacific. He is co-editor of Decision Making in Dental Treatment Planning and contributed to the sixth edition of Ingle’s Endodontics. And, he is a Fellow in the International College of Dentists and American College of Dentists. 

Zweig maintains a private endodontic practice in San Marino, Calif, and is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Southern California. Also, he is a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the American College of Dentists. He additionally has served on the AAE Board of Directors and as treasurer of the AAE.

Dietz has been a private practicing endodontist in Bloomfield Hills, Mich, for more than 30 years. He taught preclinical endodontics at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry for several years. Also, he is a past president of the Michigan Association of Endodontists and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.

Myers is the graduate program director of endodontics at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, joining its faculty after 16 years in private practice in Tumwater, Wash. A US Air Force veteran, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and a former president of the Washington State Association of Endodontists as well.
