ADA Names Cole and Huot Its President-Elect and Second Vice President

During its meeting last week in Atlanta, the ADA selected Jeffrey Cole, DDS, as its president-elect. He will assume the presidency in October 2018. Also, the ADA elected Richard A. Huot, DDS, as its second vice president. 

Cole has served as the Fourth District trustee to the ADA House of Delegates since 2013. As a trustee, he is the chair of the Budget and Finance Committee and the Strategic Planning Committee. Previously, he was a member of the ADA’s Council on Dental Practice.

Also, Cole is involved in the AGD, where he served as president in 2012-2013. He is a fellow of the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, and the Academy of Dentistry International. He was president of the Delaware State Dental Society in 2008-2009 and received its Distinguished Service Award in 2015.

A 1986 graduate of the Georgetown University School of Dentistry, Cole earned a master’s in business administration from Temple University a decade later. He now practices in Wilmington, Del, where he lives with his wife Linda.

Huot is a general dentist and practice management consultant in Vero Beach, Fla. An ADA member for 35 years, he has served in many leadership positions within the association, including 21 years as a delegate to the ADA House of Delegates.

After three years of active duty in the US Air Force Dental Corps, Huot spent the initial years of his career in Maine and is a past president of the Maine Dental Association. He then practiced dentistry in Florida for 14 years. He has served as president of the Atlantic Coast District Dental Association and is currently on the Florida Dental Association Board of Trustees. Also, Huot is a graduate of Boston College and obtained his DDS at Northwestern University Dental School.
