MELVILLE, New York — (June 11, 2013) — Air Techniques, Inc., a leading innovator and manufacturer of dental equipment, donated several pieces of dental equipment to the Children’s Dental Center of Los Angeles in May 2013.
The Children’s Dental Center of Greater Los Angeles (TCDC) has been a stand-alone provider of quality oral health education and treatment services to dentally underserved children and their caregivers throughout the Greater Los Angeles area since 1995. The TCDC is truly a hard-working organization that provides needed services in the community as defined in their mission statement: “As a nonprofit agency we are dedicated to eliminating dental disease and promoting overall health by providing a dental home for underserved children and their caregivers through exceptional and comprehensive prevention, education and treatment services."
“The Children’s Dental Center of Los Angeles has been a visionary organization and model for many similar programs around the country treating the underserved and disadvantaged. Dr. Cherilyn Sheets saw a real need and put her skills, toil, sweat and tears where her heart is and transformed the lives of thousands. The team she developed, led by Dennis Young, today guides this wonderful program. It is an honor to be able to work with these caring people in doing such great work,” said Robert Nordquist, Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Air Techniques.
Air Techniques’ ScanX Digital Imaging System, Polaris Intraoral Camera, and Spectra Caries Detection aid along with the necessary accessories were donated to and installed in the TCDC facility in May 2013. These products will enable the TCDC to streamline their dental procedures, make more accurate diagnoses, and be more efficient overall.
“It is because of generous gifts from companies like Air Techniques that The Children’s Dental Center can keep caring for children who are in desperate need for a dental home. We are so grateful to Air Techniques for providing us with equipment that allows us to provide quality care to our children,” said Dr. Cherilyn Sheets, Founder of TCDC.
“The generous donation that Air Techniques made to The Children’s Dental Center of Greater Los Angeles enables us to provide additional services to the underserved children and their caregivers who are in care. With this donation, Air Techniques has demonstrated their unwavering commitment to helping reduce oral disease in underprivileged communities. Together we are making a positive difference in the lives of dentally underserved children and their caregivers,” said Dennis Young, President & CEO.
