MELVILLE, New York—April 19, 2011—Air Techniques, Inc., a leading dental equipment manufacturer, recently sponsored a seminar entitled “Advanced Caries Detection” at its corporate headquarters.  The seminar, taught by Howard Golan, D.D.S., earned attendees two continuing education credits at no charge.

“Practicing minimally invasive dentistry has rightly become one or our industry’s most important goals,” said Dr. Golan, “and detecting caries in earlier stages is one of the most effective ways we can achieve that goal.”  In his seminar, Dr. Golan reviewed a variety of relevant new technologies, including Air Techniques’ Spectra™ Caries Detection Aid. Spectra is the only caries detection aid that works like Doppler radar to discover caries earlier.

“The Spectra system removes the guesswork for clinicians,” said Dr. Golan, “and the insightful data it provides allow dental practices to minimize unnecessary excavation and truly restore teeth to health.”

The seminar was the first conducted in Air Techniques’ state-of-the-art training facility.  In addition to the free seminar, attendees were given an exclusive tour of the company’s factory.  “We were pleased and honored to host these dedicated professionals,” said Richard Povak, Air Techniques President.  “We wanted them to see our facilities, technologies and employees in action, as they are what make it possible for us to support the very important services these clinicians provide their patients.”

Seminar speaker Dr. Golan, the co-founder of the Center for Laser Education and a faculty member at the World Clinical Laser Institute, maintains a private practice in Manhasset Hills, Long Island.
