The FDI World Dental Federation is now offering campaign resources to help practitioners education their patients and celebrate World Oral Health Day on March 20, 2019. With the year’s theme of “Say Ahh: Act on Mouth Health,” materials include three printable checklists with oral care tips for children, adults, and governments.

The checklists for children and adults encourage patients to evaluate their current oral hygiene habits and provide tips for improving their daily routines. The checklist for governments encourages policymakers to reflect on what they can do to establish optimal oral health policies in their countries.

Campaign posters also are available, each targeting a different audience: the general public, children, and patients visiting the dentist. Each poster highlights the connection between oral health and general health. All campaign materials are available for download in English, French, and Spanish.

3M is partnering with FDI to help support and promote World Oral Health Day. The company already backs the organization’s advocacy work, which includes a push to integrate oral health in the global health and development agenda and highlight the contributions of dental professionals in maintaining general health, well-being, and quality of life.

3M Oral Care is excited to sponsor World Oral Health Day in 2019. There is no better way to live our mission of ‘lifelong oral health for everyone’ than by partnering with FDI to create awareness of the importance of oral health throughout the world,” said Sebastian Arana, 3M Oral Care president and general manager.

“World Oral Health Day unites the global community under a common aim: to reduce the burden of oral disease and ensure good oral health for all,” said Dr. Kathryn Kell, FDI president. “I’m thrilled to welcome 3M to our circle of World Oral Health Day Supporters. I look forward to strengthening our existing relationship to deliver a top-notch World Oral Health Day in 2019.”
