What: CDA Presents The Art and Science of Dentistry, the bi-annual convention of the California Dental Association, is expecting to draw 26,000 dentists and dental professionals from across the U.S. The three-day convention will feature educational courses and about 600 exhibitors demonstrating new techniques as well as innovative products and services for dentists.

With oral cancer rates are on the rise in the U.S., participants can review the most common and most important lesions likely to be encountered in a general dental practice. Emphasis will be placed on recognizing the clinical features most helpful in differentiating one lesion from another. Lane C. Thomsen, DDS, MS, will show participants how to recognize troublesome oral lesions, including the clinical characteristics and risk factors for oral cancer.
