The Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) in collaboration with the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) have officially launched the Dental Industry Specialist in Infection Prevention and Control (DISIPC) certification program.
The DISIPC certification is the first and only infection control certification specifically for dental sales and practice management professionals. Those who hold DISIPC certification have proven their knowledge in CDC guidelines and OSHA standards and regulations, as well as concepts related to the prevention of disease transmission in the dental office.
“These professionals are often key providers of dental infection control information to dental practices,” said OSAP Executive Director Michelle Lee. “Earning and maintaining the knowledge that comes with holding the DISIPC distinction helps dental teams provide safe and high-quality patient care.”
“Earning DISIPC certification is a marker of professional excellence,” said DANB CEO Laura Skarnulis. “DISIPC certified individuals have completed in-depth education and passed a rigorous exam, which demonstrates their knowledge and helps ensure that all involved in patient care are protected.”
Already, 40 dental professionals have earned DISIPC certification through a special testing event earlier this year.
The DISIPC certification is now available to all qualified dental professionals.
