Delta Dental of Tennessee (Delta Dental) announced the appointment of executive vice president Jeff Ballard to president.
In his new role, Ballard will continue to serve as chief financial officer and Dr. Phil Wenk will continue as CEO.
The move will expand Ballard’s internal oversight of the company while granting Wenk the opportunity to be more engaged with the work of Delta Dental’s corporate foundation, the Smile180 Foundation.
“Jeff has been a crucial part of the company’s recent success, and we have the greatest confidence in his ability to begin to lead Delta Dental into its next season of growth,” said Delta Dental board chair Dr. Paul Bacon.
Ballard joined Delta Dental in the role of CFO in 2015.
He was named a 2020 CFO of the Year by theNashville Business Journal and was recognized again in 2021 with the CFO of the Year in the Health Care Innovation Awards.
A Middle Tennessee native, Ballard served as CFO at Magazines.com for 10 years prior to coming to Delta Dental.
Additionally, Ballard served as controller for Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) and an auditor for Arthur Andersen.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Middle Tennessee State University. He and his family live in Brentwood.
