Dental patients in the Middle East are making a certain request more and more. They now realize the importance of dental implants, so they’re asking for them on a regular basis.

The intrigue involving dental implants has risen in the Middle East. As a result dentists and patients are more in tune with dental implants. That’s why the patients want the implants, realizing that this kind of treatment is the most up to date compared to other methods of treatment.

But with dental implants, it’s essential that the dentist who places the implants is qualified to perform the procedure. Therefore, prospective implant patients need to find a dentist that has a proven track record performing the procedures.

Professor Heiner Weber, chairman of the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of Tuebingen, Germany, spoke about this topic at the 2011 Dentistry Middle East Exhibition and Congress in Abu Dhabi.

Dental implants are viewed by most dentists as the best long-term solution for missing teeth. Implants, which are small titanium screws, get fixed into pre-drilled sockets of the jawbone by the dentist. The implants eventually integrate into the bone, making way for a new restoration and giving the mouth the ability to work the way it’s designed to work.
