Dentistry took the spotlight as the only workshop among 40 others at Smart Diaspora 2023. Prof. Dr. Claudia C Cotca DDS, MPH, CEO, and founder of the Washington Institute for Dentistry & Laser Surgery (WILDS) had the honor of being an invited speaker at Smart Diaspora 2023. She presented dentistry at a plenary session before an audience of 1000 experts, discussing dentistry action item conclusions as part of the “Innovative Techniques and Interdisciplinary and Inter-Interinstitutional Cooperation for Improving Population Health” Workshop, which took place from April 10th to 14th, 2023.
The workshop received strong support from the Dean of the School of Dentistry, Prof. Univ. Dr. Meda-Lavinia Negrutiu.
The event was hosted by Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timisoara, with coordination led by Prof. Univ. Dr. Horia Manolea (Craiova, Romania), Prof. Univ. Dr. Lotrean Lucia Maria (Cluj-Napoca, Romania), Prof. Dr. Claudia C. Cotca (Washington DC, USA), Radu-Loghin Cornel (Brussels, Belgium), Dean Prof. Univ. Dr. Meda-Lavinia Negrutiu (Timisoara, Romania), and Monica Marc (Timisoara, Romania). Distinguished presenters from Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timisoara, Prof. Univ. Dr. Cosmin Sinescu, and Prof. Univ. Dr. Marius Pricop, along with Vice Dean Prof. Univ. Dr. Andrei Mostovei from the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy Nicolae Testemitanu Moldova, provided unique perspectives on optical laser technology, treatments of oral cancer, and dental implant protocols.
Smart Diaspora’s objective is to create a platform for dialogue and collaboration among Romanian researchers worldwide, with a particular focus on supporting and enriching Romania.
Prof. Dr. Claudia C Cotca is renowned for her expertise in innovating clinical protocols, medical devices, global laser technology clinical applications, and oral systemic axes. During the event, she delivered two separate presentations, one on “Cytotoxicity in the Oral Cavity and Correlations with Oral Cancer” and another on “Methodologies and Protocols in Dental Treatments in the USA: Possibilities for Implementations in Europe/Romania.” Notably, she highlighted the significance and impact of implementing the concept of 360healthcareTM on technology transfer in the oral systemic healthcare sector.
The workshop’s concluding wrap-up presentation was delivered by Global Leadership Dentistry & Sciences (GLDS) during the “Innovative Techniques and Interdisciplinary and Inter-Interinstitutional Cooperation for Improving Population Health” Workshop.

“The Smart Diaspora – Diaspora in Higher Education, Science, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Prof. Dr. Claudia C Cotca, DDS, MPH, is a three-time graduate of the University of Michigan, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on Chemistry and Cellular Molecular Biology, a Master of Public Health in Toxicology, and a Doctor of Dental Surgery. She is widely recognized as an international lecturer, healthcare analyst, dentist, toxicologist, and founder of various ventures in both private and public health.
