Arthur K. “Kit” Weathers, DDS, 75, died on December 25, 2018, in Paradise Valley, Arizona. He was a long-time contributor to Dentistry Today and one of our Leaders in Continuing Education. He also was director of endodontics at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies for seven years.
However, Weathers perhaps was best remembered for his two-day Endo “Root Camps,” where he was masterful at helping general dentists improve their proficiency, efficiency, and enjoyment in performing endodontics. As part of his Magic of Dentistry series, he was well known for keeping his dental audiences entertained through humor and magic.
Plus, Weathers had developed a range of dental products, including the EndoMagic nickel-titanium file system for general dentists seeking to improve the quality of care and the economics of the endodontics services they offer. He also was the clinical technique developer of the X-tip Intraosseous Anesthesia System.
Weathers was a graduate of the Emory University School of Dentistry as well. He is survived by his wife, his son, his stepdaughter, two brothers, and his granddaughter.
