Two companies announce that the denture workflow and material system is now validated on Formlabs Form 4B dental printers for digital denture manufacturing through Formlabs’ Open Material Mode

To meet the growing demand by aging patients for quality dentures, Dentsply Sirona and Formlabs have announced that the Lucitone Digital Print Denture workflow and material system is now validated on Formlabs Form 4B dental printers for digital denture manufacturing through Formlabs’ Open Material Mode (OMM).
Unveiled in April 2024, Formlabs’ Form 4 and Form 4B 3D printers feature fast print speeds designed to provide professionals new levels of productivity. The Form 4B is designed to print an accurate, great-fitting dental model every 49 seconds.
As global populations age, there is an increasing demand for high-quality denture production to address edentulism, so dental manufacturer Dentsply Sirona and Formlabs—the largest supplier of professional stereolithography (SLA) and selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printers—are working together to make the Lucitone Digital Print Denture™ System more accessible. The system includes the comprehensive range of materials and validated workflows featuring BAM!™ smart polymer technology.
This newly available validation will enable dental laboratories to address increased demand for high-quality dentures that do not require complex assembly methods or long processing times. According to the two companies, this marks a significant step forward in the evolution of denture manufacturing, bringing cutting-edge technology and materials to dental labs across the globe.
The new workflow for Formlabs printers includes all Lucitone Digital Print materials for both premium and economy dentures: Lucitone Digital Print, Lucitone Digital Value, Lucitone Digital IPN, Lucitone Digital Fuse, and the Digital Cure Units.
Accurate, Repeatable Results
The Lucitone Digital Print Denture System is designed to enable labs to quickly print single-arch dentures and manage complex cases. The Dentsply Sirona print denture materials include the Lucitone Digital Print™ 3D Denture base in five shades and Lucitone Digital IPN™ 3D Premium Tooth in 18 shades. These materials will soon be available through Formlabs’ OMM, the companies state, to deliver seamless integration and optimized performance on the Formlabs 4B printer.
Formlabs enables dental practices and labs to create highly reliable models, dentures, surgical guides and more, with streamlined workflows designed to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Among a suite of over 15 materials for digital dentistry, Form 4B can now produce high-quality digital dentures via the new Lucitone Digital Print Denture validation, the 3D company states.

The Lucitone Digital Print Denture System features optimal mechanical strength, tooth durability, and a comprehensive system for full arch and partial denture production, available in 16 A-D* + 2 bleach shades for teeth.
