Dentsply Sirona, the world’s largest manufacturer of dental products and technologies, partnered with TeamSmile to organize a free dental clinic for underprivileged children from local Boys and Girls Clubs and other organizations in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event, held at Truist Field at the end of July, aimed to provide much-needed dental care and oral health education to the youth.
Children attending the clinic received a range of free dental services, including x-rays, cleanings, fillings, sealants, and extractions, with a total estimated value of almost $26,000. In addition to dental care and free oral health education, the young patients had the opportunity to meet Homer the Dragon, the official mascot of the Charlotte Knights baseball team, along with other TeamSmile mascots. The event also featured face painting to create a fun and memorable dental treatment experience for the children.
Andrea Frohning, SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer at Dentsply Sirona, expressed her satisfaction with the event’s impact and emphasized the importance of the long-term partnership with TeamSmile. “We are delighted to see another great turnout for this free dental clinic,” Frohning said. “Through our long-term partnership with TeamSmile, we are able to help improve access to oral care for those in need, enhance health outcomes for children in our local community, and foster the understanding that a healthy mouth is essential for overall health.”
Dentsply Sirona’s Commitment to 25 Million Healthy Smiles by 2025: Expanding National Partnerships and Community Support

“We are grateful to continue our partnership with Dentsply Sirona to serve the children of the Charlotte community, while also having the chance to collaborate with the Charlotte Knights,” said John McCarthy, executive director at TeamSmile. “It was so touching to see the children receive services and leave smiling even brighter.”
