Tulsa, Okla., August 25, 2011: DENTSPLY Tulsa Dental Specialties announced the launch of a new, ground-breaking, two-day continuing education course eligible for ADA CERP and AGD PACE continuing education credits.
In a revolutionary two-day (14 credits) approach to endodontic continuing education that is founded on science, the course takes dentists through every vital step of root canal therapy. Clinicians will be taken through the key factors needed to achieve success, including: Diagnosis, Access and Canal Preparation, Disinfection, Obturation and Endodontic Restorations. Until now, endodontic continuing education focused on the how-to mechanics. Technical and product-based courses traditionally built excellent procedural experience, but did little to address the scientific, evidence-based factors that ultimately determine success.
The course curriculum was developed by Drs. George A. Bruder, James L. Gutmann, Markus Haapasalo, Sergio Kuttler, Stephen P. Niemczyk and Robert S. Roda. The course is taught individually by these endodontic experts – among other respected endodontic speakers – and includes lecture and hands-on instruction after the completion of each course section.
"As clinicians, we cannot always determine the highest level of evidence-based directives that may have an impact on our outcomes. Therefore, we must rely heavily on supportive and ever-advancing biologic research. We created an approach to endodontic care that requires the judicious integration of systematic assessments of clinically relevant scientific evidence, the consideration of the patient’s overall health and utilization of the dentist’s clinical expertise," said Dr. Robert S. Roda, DDS, MS, instructor and co-developer of the course curriculum. "In this course, we highlight and investigate the scientific research to provide new learning that can positively enhance efficacy of endodontic procedures."
The course will offer attendees a different kind of CE experience that will cover new ground rather than procedural proficiencies already widely understood. The unique approach includes unbiased discussion of the latest endodontic innovations on the market and the science behind them.
The cost of the course is $499 but attendees can save $100 by registering 30 days in advance. Registration, presenter biographies and a complete listing of course locations are available at http://register.tulsadental.com or by calling 1-800-662-1202.
