[January 12, 2010] – Dr. Michael A. Smith of the Biting Edge Family Dentistry (721 W. Glendale Ave in Phoenix) was recently elected chair of the Arizona Dental Foundation. This third generation Arizona dentist, graduated with a D.M.D. in 1993 from the University of Louisville, KY. He has been active in Arizona Dental Association component and constituent activities since 1994 serving as Central Arizona Dental Society President in 2007. Dr. Smith is equally committed to his family – wife Janice and two children, Alex and Christine. He is an adult leader of the Boys Scouts of America, coaches youth baseball, and is passionate about hunting.
In addition to countless hours of post doctorate studies in occlusion, sedation, sleep apnea and TMD, he is a Certified Instructor of Euroteknika EDI Implants; Lecturer/Educator – BioResearch, T-Scan, ERA Sterngold Mini Implants; Clinical Instructor, Mentor and Program Lecturer – Hornbrook Group, Clinical Mastery; Instructor in Hygiene Laser Certification for Phoenix College; and National and International Educator in Full Mouth Rehabilitation, Esthetics, and Occlusion.
The Arizona Dental Foundation’s mission is to keep Arizona smiling by providing charitable dentistry to children, seniors and individuals with a special need throughout Arizona.
