Kansas City University will break ground in 2021 on its College of Dental Medicine in Joplin, Missouri, where nearly all of the counties in a 125-mile radius are Dental Health Professional Shortage Areas. Dr. Linda C. Niessen, dean and professor of the new school, discusses its development, its curriculum, and its goals in serving a population that currently lacks access to convenient and affordable oral healthcare.
