The California Dental Association Foundation is pleased to announce that Henry Schein Cares, the global corporate social responsibility program of Henry Schein, Inc. (NASDAQ:HSIC), will contribute $100,000 in supplies to support the next two CDA Cares volunteer dental events taking place in Fresno and Ventura. This is Henry Schein Cares’ largest single donation to CDA Cares.

“The philanthropic support we have received from Henry Schein is vital to the success of our CDA Cares events,” said Don Rollofson, DMD, chair of the CDA Foundation. “With their support and this very generous contribution, we will be able serve more patients across California who need oral health care the most.”

With a goal of relieving pain and infection, the CDA Cares volunteer dental events provide fillings, extractions, cleanings and oral health education at no charge to Californians who experience barriers to care.

“Not only does CDA Cares provide dental services to those in need, these events also bring the community together and have a tremendous impact throughout the state,” said Glenn Showgren, California zone general manager for Henry Schein Dental, the U.S. Dental business of Henry Schein, Inc. “Henry Schein Dental is committed to social responsibility and we are proud to partner with CDA Cares in supporting the vital clinics that help expand access to care.”

CDA Cares events also educate the public and policymakers about the importance of good oral health and an adequately funded dental safety net, including a well-functioning Denti-Cal program and a state dental director who can develop programs to improve the oral health of Californians.

Since 2012, the CDA Foundation has held seven CDA Cares events that have provided $11.2 million in dental services to nearly 14,000 patients across California.
