Hundreds of teams, each comprising a dentist and a dental technician, have submitted their case presentations. And now, Ivoclar Vivadent has selected the finalists for its IPS e.max Smile Award 2016.

The company will announce who has taken first, second, and first place in each competitive region on the eve of the 3rd International Expert Symposium on June 10 in Madrid, Spain.

Ivoclar Vivadent launched the international contest to find the best dental cases solved using the IPS e.max all-ceramic system. Its panel of experts judged the entries based on aesthetics, complexity, and harmony. The work of the winners will be presented at professional events and in the dental media.

“To choose the winners was rather difficult as all the cases showed beautiful parts and details,” said Gonzalo Zubiri, a panelist from Argentina.

In the Asia-Pacific region, the panel selected Dr. Jineel Ham and HaSeon Yoo of Korea, Dr. Baijun Sun and Benhui Du of China, and Dr. Tetsuya Uchiyama and Michiro Manaka of Japan.

In Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the panel chose Anna Giorgadze and Ilias Psarris of Greece, Prof. Dr. Petra Gierthmühlen and Uda Plaster of Germany, and Dr. Ferran Llansana and Juan Sampol Reus of Spain.

In North and Latin America, the panel picked Dr. Gabriela Pappaterra and Libardo García Tolosa of Colombia, C.D. Lucio Armando Quevado Hernández and Ramon Sanchez Hernández of Mexico, and Dr. Luis Sanchez and Alic Alen of the United States.

“Because creation begins from perfect imitation, being a member of the panel for the IPS e.max Smile Award was a great opportunity for me to get inspired for my own work, too,” said Dr. Jian Shan, a panelist from China.
