Ivoclar Vivadent has named George W. Tysowsky, DDS, MPH, its head of global training and education in addition to his role as senior vice president of technology and public relations. Tysowsky will focus on developing and implementing global strategy as well as on furthering the development of the global organization, the company said. He also will further develop and provide integrated learning concepts that blend analog and digital methods for the company’s methods, Ivoclar Vivadent added.
“Education is the cornerstone of innovation at Ivoclar Vivadent,” said Christian Brutzer, president of Ivoclar Vivadent. “This is a transformative time in dentistry as we blend analog and digital methods to bring best-of-class dentistry to our patients. We are excited that Dr. Tysowsky will lead our global efforts to continue to provide relevant education to our dentist and laboratory customers around the world.”
Tysowsky joined the company in 1985. As a researcher, he pioneered its development of highly aesthetic all-ceramic restorative materials and digital technologies, Ivoclar Vivadent said. He earned his DDS from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and a master’s degree in public health from the Minnesota School of Public Health.
Also, Tysowsky is a Fellow of the American College of Dentistry and the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, which awarded him its Lifetime Achievement Award. He is an Honorary Member of the American College of Prosthodontics and an Accredited Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry as well. And, he serves as an adjunct faculty member at the SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester.
