Dental Whale has appointed Joe Cavaretta its new leader. Cavaretta succeeds David Lopez, founder of the company, who will now serve as vision leader and chairman of the board.

“Joe is an exceptional leader that knows how to build a team and get things done. He is also not afraid to challenge the status quo in the industry,” Lopez said.
With more than two decades of dental industry experience, Cavaretta previously was vice president of sales for the United States dental business at Henry Schein.
“It has been an honor serving Dental Whale for almost two years under David’s leadership,” said Cavaretta.
“I look forward to continuing to serve the dental industry with customer-centric solutions that truly empower independent dentists and DSOs,” he said.
“We’re on a mission to make this industry more efficient while providing the solutions our clients actually need,” Cavaretta said.
Under Cavaretta’s leadership, Dental Whale will launch Shop, which is designed to simplify the way that private practices and DSOs purchase equipment and supplies.
Shop will be available on Dental Whale’s all-in-one intuitive platform, which streamlines the business of dentistry and provides on-demand education content, the company said.
Slated to launch at the beginning of 2021, Shop also will simplify how private practices and DSOs can purchase from multiple vendors through one centralized location, Dental Whale said.
Plus, Shop will provide practices with metrics on purchasing efficiency that will guide them toward smarter and more efficient ordering behaviors, the company said.
