Dr. Cohen received his DDS degree from McGill University in Montreal and his MS and Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Washington. The Seattle Study Club network is the “brainchild” of Dr. Cohen. An advanced educational organization, it consists of clinicians dedicated to raising the level at which their profession is practiced. This university without walls has over 260 chapters with more than 7,400 members on 5 continents. Each club provides clinical treatment planning sessions designed to increase total case management and provide problem-solving sessions; a network of specialists/advisors; and dedicated, comprehensive treatment planning. National lecturers are showcased in small group settings, allowing for intimate sharing of state-of-the-art treatment for patients. The Seattle Study Club network provides a quarterly interdisciplinary treatment planning journal (The Seattle Study Club Journal), newsletters, lectures, conferences, symposia, etc. Guidance and assistance are also provided to each of the locally based study clubs. Dr. Cohen has received numerous awards, including the Pierre Fauchard Academy Gold Medal and the P-I Brånemark Award for Lifetime Achievement in Dentistry in 2018. Over the past 25 years, Dr. Cohen has authored various articles on continuing education and has lectured internationally. In 2008, he authored and edited the textbook Interdisciplinary Treatment Planning: Principles, Design, Implementation (Quintessence, 2008). In 2011, Interdisciplinary Treatment Planning, Volume II: Comprehensive Case Studies was released.
