Dr. Freydberg is a 1968 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Dentistry and has been in practice since graduation. He now practices, lectures, and consults part-time. He is a Diplomate of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy, qualified by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, a Fellow of the AGD, a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. He is also a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Sleep and Breathing Association, ADA, Illinois State Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, and Alpha Omega. In 2002, Dr. Freydberg was the program chairman for the Chicago Midwinter Meeting, and in 2004, Dr. Freydberg received the distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Illinois. In 2007, Dr. Gordon Christensen appointed Dr. Freydberg as the Director of Technology at the new Scottsdale Center for Dentistry, at the time, he was the head of educational programs. In February 2009, the Chicago Dental Society awarded Dr. Freydberg the Gordon Christensen Lecture Recognition Award for his outstanding teaching contributions over the years. He was also a consultant to the ADA Council on Dental Practice for more than a decade. His well-known technology lectures for the past 32 years led him to the link between conservative aesthetic dentistry and technology, a term he coined “Techsthetics.” For the past 12 years, he has become a leading teacher on the science, protocols and marketing of dental sleep medicine. His classes have helped dentists add this discipline to their existing practices, some of whom have even limited their practices to sleep dentistry.
