Dr. Roberson received his bachelor of science in biology at the University of Southern Mississippi and his dental doctorate at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry, and performed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. His training included dentoalveolar surgery, anesthesia, implants, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma, reconstructive surgery, temporomandibular disorders, oral medicine and pathology, cleft lip and palate surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, and skin rejuvenation. In addition, he attends continuing education seminars throughout the year to stay current with new technology and procedures as it relates to the field of oral surgery. Dr. Roberson is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, and also has board certification from the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, ADA, Mississippi Dental Association, and the South Mississippi Dental Association. He has published articles in journals such as the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Journal of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, the British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Journal of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, among many others. In 1998, Dr. Roberson was awarded a Presidential Citation from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for his ongoing community service project, Mississippians Opposed to Spit Tobacco. During dental school, he had the honor of being elected president of the American Student Dental Association, which consisted of 15,000 members. He also received numerous awards while in dental school, including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Award for outstanding performance and excellence in undergraduate oral surgery.
