Dr. Soxman began her career in healthcare as an intensive and coronary care nurse. She attended the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry where she taught after her graduation in 1980. Her specialty training was completed at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a Fellow in the American College of Dentists, and on the board of advisors for both General Dentistry and the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University School Dentistry. She teaches as a seminar instructor for the General Practice Residencies at Allegheny General Hospital and the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center. In 2012, she joined an online dental continuing education company, xpAPce, as a speaker/scholar and pediatric advisor. She has authored many articles and is currently writing a chapter for a textbook. Her conversational style of speaking incorporates a review of the dental literature and over twenty-nine years of practice experience, earning her national recognition as a leader in continuing education. She maintains a private practice in pediatric dentistry in Allison Park, Pa. She is the editor of Handbook of Clinical Techniques in Pediatric Dentistry, 2nd ed.
