CHICAGO, Aug. 29, 2013 — Dental professionals interested in providing their services to underserved populations can check out the course on effective international volunteerism called “I Do, I Teach, I Volunteer,” at the American Dental Association (ADA) Annual Session in New Orleans.
This free 2.5 hour course (course 6336) is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 1, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Experienced global volunteers Dr. Marshall Gallant and Dr. Jack Levine are scheduled to discuss how international volunteerism can support lasting, sustainable improvements to the oral health of communities in need worldwide.
The presenters will share strategies to improve oral public health in developing nations through education and training, personal perspectives on international oral health programs and more. Dr. Sherwin Shinn, the 2013 ADA Humanitarian Award recipient, will be a guest speaker. The course is presented in cooperation with the ADA Division of Global Affairs.

2013 Annual Session Registration is Open
Registration is open for the ADA’s 154th Annual Session and World Marketplace Exhibition, which is slated for Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 in New Orleans. The session brings together leaders in dental practice, research, academia and industry to present more than 300 continuing education courses over four days.
