San Francisco, CA (November 25, 2012) – MicroDental Laboratories is pleased to announce that seven MicroDental technicians have achieved Certified Dental Technician (CDT) status as recognized by the National Board of Certification (NBC). These seven newly certified technicians join MicroDental’s existing staff of CDTs.
The designation of CDT is awarded by the NBC to technicians who, “Demonstrate a significant mastery of the knowledge and applied skills needed in dental technology. Candidates must pass written and practical examinations, and demonstrate a competency that not all of their peers can achieve.” The technical proficiency indicated by the CDT certification reflect a commitment to providing dentist, their team members and patients with the highest levels of quality and service.
“CDT Certification is further proof that MicroDental is taking important measures to bring dentistry to a higher level throughout the lab. Enhancing the experience for doctors is our main goal, and with more CDTs we can achieve this with experience and expertise,” commented Lee Culp, CDT and CTO of MicroDental Laboratories.
According to the National Board of Certification (NBC) in Dental Laboratory Technology, there are 6,500 active CDTs. This equates to less than one CDT per dental laboratory.
