NADL Salutes Laboratory Luminaries

The National Association of Dental Laboratories (NADL) honored contributors to dental laboratory technology at its annual Vision 21 meeting in Las Vegas on January 22. Winners were nominated by their peers and selected based on an objective point system.

Safelink Consulting of Atlanta was named the NADL Supplier Member of the Year and Drake Precision Dental Lab of Charlotte, NC, was named the NADL Laboratory Member of the year for their contributions to and leadership in the dental laboratory industry.

Barbara Warner-Wojdan, CDT, AAACD, of the Knight Dental Group in Oldsmar, Fla, received the NADL Merit Award for Outstanding Achievements due to her work on behalf of NADL nationally and for the industry at large.

Jim McLees, CDT, of Kent, Wash, received the Lifetime Membership Award. This honor recognizes individuals who have retired after serving as the designated representative of an NADL member laboratory in good standing for at least 20 years.

The NADL Hall of Fame Award went to Jerry Ragle, CDT, of Ragle Dental Laboratory in Champaign, Ill, and Gary Iocco of Dimension Dental Design in Hastings, Minn. They were saluted for their contributions to the dental laboratory profession in general.

Daniel Alter, MSc, MDT, CDT, of the New York City College of Technology in Brooklyn, NY, received the Educator of the Year Award and Oral Arts Dental Laboratory of Atlanta was honored for Excellence in Education for their contributions to dental technology education.

And, Julio C. Zavala, Master CDT, of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry was named the 2016 CDT of the Year, recognizing his contributions to his peers and the dental laboratory profession above and beyond the call of duty.
