The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) has named Nadim Z. Baba, DMD, its newest president. A Fellow of the organization, Baba was sworn in for his one-year term at the 48th Annual Session of the ACP held in Baltimore, October 31 through November 3.

“It is a great honor to serve and be part of the ACP,” said Baba. “I believe the strength of the College comes from the diversity, knowledge, and passion of the individual members, and their collective dedication to furthering the specialty.”

Baba has led many ACP initiatives. Most recently, he edited the coffee table book Transforming Lives, published by the College. He also has served as Pacific region director, president of the California section, and vice chair of the ACPEF Annual Appeal Committee.

Baba is a member of the editorial team of the ACP’s Journal of Prosthodontics as well. He is a professor at the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and maintains a part-time private practice limited to prosthodontics and implant dentistry in Glendale, California.

A Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, Baba holds a DMD from the University of Montreal and a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in Prosthodontics and a master’s degree in restorative sciences in prosthodontics from the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
