Presented by MouthWatch, the Teledentistry Innovation Awards will highlight the ways that teledentistry is being implemented across a broad spectrum of dental care, including public health and private practice settings. The “Tellies” also will recognize individual, forward-thinking providers who are realizing the full potential for connected dental care technology and reshaping the practice of dentistry and the state of oral health globally, MouthWatch reports.
“Teledentistry is rapidly expanding in virtually every dental environment—rural settings, urban areas, private practices, and public health programs. It is being utilized by dentists, hygienists, specialists, and medical care providers. Our goal is to shine a light on those teledentistry innovators and pioneers who are leading the way and proving by example that teledentistry technology can enhance dentistry, reach more patients, and improve oral health and overall health,” said Brant Herman, MouthWatch founder and CEO.
The Tellies will be presented to winners in three main categories: Dentists/Specialists, Dental Hygienists, and Oral Health Programs. The Dental Hygienists winners will be announced at the RDH Under One Roof Meeting on August 2, and the Dentists/Specialists and Oral Health Programs winners will be announced at the Greater New York Dental Meeting (GNYDM) on November 26.
Winners will receive a $1,000 cash grant, airfare and lodging to RDH Under One Roof or the GNYDM, TeleDent licenses and a MouthWatch Intraoral Camera. They also will be invited to speak at the award ceremony and may have other speaking opportunities. Winners will have their business, practice, or program highlighted in a MouthWatch press release and announcements as well. Nominations are currently being accepted online.
