Premier Dental Holdings, a parent company of Western Dental Services, has signed a definitive agreement with the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America to acquire its dental service organization operations, which currently support 63 offices in Texas, California, and Alabama.
The acquisition will add 36 supported offices in Texas currently branded South Texas Dental, 13 in Northern and Central California under the Access Dental brand, eight in Northern and Southern California branded Blue Hills Dental, and six Vital Smiles offices in Alabama.
The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2018. Terms were not disclosed. When complete, the transaction will bring the number of Western Dental and Brident supported offices to 312 in five states.
“These offices are an excellent strategic fit with our 249 existing Western Dental and Brident offices in California, Texas, Arizona, and Nevada,” said Daniel D. Crowley, chairman and CEO of Western Dental
“The offices of both firms have long shared the goal of expanding access to high-quality, affordable dentistry, including for patients covered by Medicaid and, in California, Denti-Cal,” said Crowley.
“The harmony of purpose and practice profile similarities between us will maximize community for patients, dentists, and staff as we welcome these quality offices into our dental home,” Crowley said.
