Industry Problem
Dental handpieces are developed on a friction grip design, a round chuck gripping a round bur shank. Friction grip, when compared to ProDrive’s locking drive system experiences inferior performance. Specifically, poor torque transmission that results in slower cutting speed less control and a reduced lifespan of the turbine.
The ProDrive Solution
The ProDrive System features a unique and patented triangular bur shank that locks into the ProDrive replacement Turbine for a significant improvement in handpiece performance. The new design of the ProDrive replacement Turbine engages the triangular bur shank to provide faster cutting, superior control and improved precision.
The superior design improves the (chuck) hold on the bur shank, resulting in reduced vibration and offering a noticeable improvement in cut accuracy, which is paramount to successful tooth preparations.
The ProDrive System’s enhanced bur shank and chuck mechanism provides smoother cutting and superior handpiece control for all procedures. Reducing vibration and chatter during cutting also reduces postoperative tooth sensitivity for patients.
