DentLight has updated its FUSION 5 curing light with a sapphire lens. The award-winning product features a 4,000-mW/cm2, laser-sharp focused curing beam in the new sapphire lens to further improve its quality and superior performance, the company said.

Leveraged by its patented optics and modular design, the FUSION 5 delivers more curing power with a more uniform and lower dispersion optical beam than its competitors while generating less heat due to its extreme optical efficiency, according to DentLight. It provides a quality composite cure in as fast as 3 seconds, the company said.

FUSION 5 is the heavy-duty light that clinicians can count on to save curing time, improve quality, and cover all composite restoration applications, including fillings, sealants, veneers, crowns, and adhesives for brackets, DentLight said.

Also, the curing light can serve as a multifunctional and versatile light that is easily upgraded for high-power transillumination (caries/fractures/canals), fluorescent imaging (early cancer detection), and photodynamic pain therapy for added profit streams, the company said.
