Implant Direct’s DLC Drills feature intuitive banding and diamond-like carbon coating. Used together with the Implant Direct Drill Stops, clinicians can elevate the standard of care they offer their patients, according to the company. DLC Drills offer high-contrast coating for greater visibility of drill depth markings, while intuitive color coding makes identification and organization of drills easier than ever before, Implant Direct said.

The diamond-like carbon coating comprises a bioinert material that enhances wear resistance while maintaining low friction during drilling. Internal testing has demonstrated that drill sharpness is maintained through 30 osteotomies (with a 1.5x safety factor) at a maximum of 1,200 rpm.

The durable, biocompatible titanium Drill Stops are pre-set for implant lengths, facilitating precise control of drilling depth and reducing the risk of over-drilling an osteotomy, the company said. Engineered to be easy-to-use, the clip-on/clip-off design helps reduce the risk of glove perforation, and lateral openings allow irrigation to reach the drill. Seamless integration of Implant Direct Drills and Stops provides consistent depth control through a simple and intuitive system, enabling dentists to treat their patients with greater confidence, Implant Direct said.
